A website that works for more people
Support Connect is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible. This statement applies to supportconnect.org.uk.
If you experience a barrier or need information in another format, please let us know so we can help.
Our approach
Our website is designed, developed and maintained in house. We consider accessibility during development and continue to review the site as it changes.
We aim to provide:
- Clear headings, meaningful links and understandable instructions.
- Content and controls that can be used with a keyboard.
- Visible focus indicators so you can see which link or control is selected.
- Readable text, sufficient colour contrast and layouts that adapt to different screen sizes.
- Page structure and labels that support assistive technology.
Adjusting the site to suit you
Keyboard navigation
Use Tab to move forwards through links and controls, and Shift + Tab to move backwards. Press Enter to follow a link.
On our FAQ page, move to a question and press Enter or Space to open or close its answer.
Text size and display
Use your browser’s zoom controls to enlarge the page. In most browsers, press Ctrl + + on Windows or Command + + on a Mac.
The W3C provides guidance on changing text size and colours using your browser’s settings.
If a setting or assistive technology does not work well with a page, contact us with the details. Our Help page also covers account access and technical problems.
Current accessibility status
We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard. We have not completed a full independent accessibility audit and do not currently claim full conformance.
Known limitations and ongoing checks
Our review is ongoing, and we do not yet have a complete assessment of every page and learning activity. Some barriers may remain or be identified as the site changes.
If you encounter an issue, please tell us which page or activity is affected. This helps us investigate the problem and discuss another way to access the information or support you need.
Technical information
The website uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with WAI-ARIA where appropriate. We aim to support modern browsers and commonly used assistive technologies.
